Mobile InsurTech:   Insurance Agent App wins ACORD 2017 Insurance Innovation Challenge in Startup/Disruptor category. ACORD CEO Bill Peroni presents award to Co-founders Kiki Johnson and Matt Aaron. The innovation enables policyholders to submit FNOL directly from the Insurance Agent App to their agency and their insurance company.

Charlotte, NC – Insurance Agent App is the 2017 ACORD® Insurance Innovation Challenge Startup/Disruptor winner.

The ACORD® Insurance Innovation Challenge is a prestigious annual competition to identify outstanding innovation achievements in insurance technology, operations, next-gen customer experience and distribution channel innovation. Hundreds of companies compete each year for this esteemed insurance industry recognition.

Insurance Agent App won by demonstrating the first direct mobile app connection to transmit a FNOL (first notice of loss) between policyholder and insurer that automatically keeps the independent agent in the loop and uses existing ACORD® data and real-time messaging standards. To test the viability of the FNOL, Insurance Agent App partnered with Selective Insurance Company of America, a super-regional insurance carrier that conducts business through the independent insurance agent distribution channel.

Insurance Agent App is transforming how policyholders, agencies and insurance companies interact by utilizing ACORD® standards to transmit messages and policy data creating a seamless communication environment.

At its core, the Insurance Agent App is a turn-key mobile solution branded for independent agencies that provides policyholders a unified container for receiving, sharing and storing data. Insurance Agent App positions the independent channel to meet and exceed the mobile-first and mobile-only solutions delivered by directs, captives and front to back disruptors.

“We’re big supporters of the independent agent,” said co-founder Matt Aaron, “and we’re excited to strengthen the channel by facilitating deeper client engagement.”

Insurance Agent App was created after one of the co-founders needed to contact his agent after an accident, but could not recall the agent nor his agency’s name.
